It is with enormous pleasure that we can announce the world premier of the Sounds of Science
– to take place at 7pm on 30th March at the Queen’s Hall in Edinburgh,
part of the Edinburgh International Science festival.

The Sounds of Science is a three-way collaboration between solo percussionist Dame Evelyn Glennie, composer Jill Jarman and Wallbook author Christopher Lloyd. The project aims to demonstrate how a narrative timeline can be conveyed effectively through a soundscape.

We have taken 93 moments from the What on Earth Wallbook of Science & Engineering and stretching from the Stone Ages to the present day – all of which are featured in a 21-minute composition that uses orchestral and sample sounds with a solo percussion performance.
