I joined What on Earth in 2022 as production director. After graduating from Leeds University with a Philosophy degree, I moved to London and worked as a bookseller in the Putney branch of Ottakar’s. I always loved to read so being surrounded by books and working in a bookshop; buying in books, organising reading groups and designing elaborate table displays was a dream come true! Through meeting book reps, I became fascinated by the publishing process and realised that this was an industry I wanted to be a part of. I was accepted on to the New York University Business of Publishing Masters programme and, through this, gained internships at literary agents and publishers and eventually started working full-time at OUP in New York. Upon returning to London, I worked at the BBC alongside their magazines division which sparked my interest in colour-work and production, leading me to apply for my first book production role. I have now enjoyed 18-years of book-making at Atlantic Books, Unbound and, now What on Earth Books.
