Shukla is a Professor of Folklore and Ethnomusicology at Indiana University Bloomington, and serves as an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Anthropology, Department of American Studies, the Dhar India Studies Program, and the Centre for Latin American and Caribbean Studies.
